New Health Center OpenedKebaowek has a new health center located at 172 Ogima Street and was completed late 2024 and opened as of December of 2024. |

Cultural BuildingWe've been moved into a new build, 112 Ogima Street beside the Band Office. "I am please to announce that we have officially related to our new facility which is situated between the Band Office and the Community Hall. I would like to extend my sincere appreciation to the Housing crew for their outstanding renovation work. Being actively engaged within the community is a top priority for us and as out team continues to grow, additional space is essential to support our efforts." - Verna Polson |

Nuclear Waste Disposal ProjectOn February 19, 2025, the Federal Court of Canada released a significant decision in Kebaowek First Nation v. Canadian Nuclear Laboratories, 2025 FC 319, ruling that the consultation process for the proposed Near Surface Disposal Facility at Chalk River, Ontario, was inadequate. This case highlights key issues related to approaching Indigenous consultation and examines the application of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (“UNDRIP”). |

June 21-22, 2025 - Pow Wow TripSummer Solstice Indigenous Festival - The culture department is pleased to announce the organization of a weekend POW WOW Trip. Accommodations will be provided at no cost for two nights per participating families, and a gas card will be included. The registration deadline is June 5th, 2025 at 4:30 PM. Limited rooms available.
