About our department
Kebaowek Child & Family Services (CFS) is a
community-based department located within
Kebaowek First Nation.
The department provides culturally grounded
programs and services designed to support the
health, safety, and well-being across the lifespan.
our history
Kebaowek Child & Family Services officially began in
2011 under the name First Line Services. Since its
creation, the department has continued to grow in
response to the evolving needs of the community.
In 2024, the department moved into a new building,
creating the space for additional avenues of care.
OUR MISSION
Our mission is to support the well-being, safety, and cultural
continuity of children, youth, and families in Kebaowek First
Nation.
Through culturally grounded and trauma-informed services, we
work alongside community members to promote healing,
stability, and resilience.

People are entitled to respect of their personal life and privacy. Thus we, Health and Wellness Workers, will perform our duties while respecting their right to confidentiality.

Programming
Across the Lifespan
Early Childhood & School Age
- Baby & Me & Head Start: Early development and social play.
- Maternal Child Health: Support for pregnancy, prenatal care, and developmental milestones.
- After School Program: Safe, engaging environments for school-aged children.
- Summer Camp: Enrichment and independence-building during school breaks.
Youth & Young Adults
- Post-Majority Services: Extended support for youth ages 16+ transitioning to adulthood.
- Youth Programming: Specific workshops and engagement activities designed for teens.
- Behaviour Therapy: Support for building social, communication, and coping skills.
Community & Seniors
- Community Breakfasts: Intergenerational gatherings for all members.
- Food Security: Access to the Community Food Bank and help with basic necessities.
- One-on-One Support: Individualized guidance for seniors and households facing challenges.
Adults & Families
- Wellness Workshops & Groups: Community-based healing and resilience training
- Cultural Programming: Events like Women’s Paint Night and International Women’s Day.
- NNADAP: Specialized mental health and addictions support.
- Parenting Support: Guidance and advocacy for caregivers and families.
